Failure to Launch – Part 2

Failure to LaunchIn my last post, I defined and described the ever looming Failure to Launch for business owners and entrepreneurs.  Further research tells me Failure to Launch is created at the depths of our subconscious, and if this giant is to be slayed, we must change the very core of our thinking, our mindset.

Failure to launch is putting together a plan, coming up with a program, writing a book, creating a product, even going so far as constructing a website. But this is where the buck stops. After all the work and all the research and all the classes and advice, you stop short and and never offer it to the public. You never share your expertise, no one hears or reads your story or sample your wares.

Failure to Launch

failure to launchAt my last coaching session I heard myself talk about failure to launch! I am guilty of the very thing I really despise the most. Failure to Launch. And as I write this post I encounter many recurring signs of this issue, as if the universe is trying to tell me something.

Have you ever had that happen to you? You know when you’re in the trenches fighting to change a habit or rise to a new challenge. Everywhere you turn you are confronted, convicted even with that very thing! I even have a client who sent me a new monthly topic for their web site “Turn It Around.”  I have learned that when this happens you can’t ignore it.  Just stop, and do something about it. If you don’t you’ll be confronted with the lesson again, and maybe not in a nice way.

Keep Up With Your Professional Industry

Your Professional Industry News

An important aspect of branding yourself is to keep up with your professional industry news. I can hear some of you saying of course I know my industry that’s how I brand myself. But often we fail to read and pursue the industry like the rookies do. Technology is growing leaps and bounds every day, and if you aren’t connected to an official group to read how that affects your industry, you may become a fossil in a modern day society.

Develop A Twelve Week Strategy

Create a twelve week strategy to take you through the first quarter of 2013. As we round off 2012, many business owners are evaluating their bottom line to see what they can improve on for the coming New Year. If you aren’t, you should be! The biggest challenge increase sales. But don’t stop there; make sure you add a goal with a number to help you know you have accomplished the goal. A great example, “I will increase sales by 15% the first quarter”.

Small Business & Surviving Storm Sandy

Small Business and Storm SurvivalStorm Sandy has gone and another one is waiting it’s turn, brewing somewhere south of the border. I have finally settled down to write a new post after what seems like weeks about business and storm survival.  As I began to write, I thought this post to be coming so far away from my subject. But as I reflect back, it hits the nail on the head in so many ways.  In planning for business, many seldom have a disaster plan. I can’t see or prevent disasters and storms that affect my life. But as technology stands, I thought I had a plan. I don’t have to commute to work, I work at home, I can work from anywhere. So how could I possibly be impacted by the storm?
